Oh, Susan, the teens could not believe their eyes. One of them even pulled out his cell phone and code it on camera.
Take a look at this video from a cell phone camera. That's US Airways flight 1549 as it tumbled down over the Bronx.
"It was lower than the usual planes that like would pass by."
Kamen Grond and his friends are students at Pottern Pratt gazing up at the sky they knew something was out of the ordinary. Here's what they saw:
"It was just shocking to see it … em … coming down lower and lower gladding pass the school."
"There was a lot of fire coming out of one engine."
"And it was going down like really fast."
The students were frozen as they watched the plane disappeared behind some trees. They thought about the passengers on board and if they would survive.
"It was really scared watching how it happened."
Back home ??? the teens learned about the miraculous maneuver by the pilot as the plane landed safely on the Hudson river. All the passengers survived but the story ??? these boys will never forget.
"How we'll always remember it cause we were so … we were so close to what happened."
And, Susan, watching something so dramatic unfold before their eyes these students say, "It's truly amazing." Everyone on board survived, they'll probably be talking about it for quite some time. Many people will, Liza, thank you.
